Marilyn June Wheeler

Marilyn June Wheeler, age 87, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Genesis Hospice – Morrison House in Zanesville. She was born April 12, 1937, in Summerfield, daughter of the late Blaine W. and Mary Rose Washington Moore. June attended Summerfield School and was employed by the former Weatherseal Plant in Caldwell. She loved to talk about Caldwell and Summerfield in the good old days. She enjoyed raising her family, gardening, cooking, reading, and working word search puzzles. She was proud of her boys and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald D. Wheeler, whom she married July 9, 1952, and who died June 21, 2014; one son, John D. Wheeler, who died June 25, 2017; and four sisters, Vivian R. Leasure, and infant sisters Betty J. Moore, Donna L. Moore, and Mary Evelyn Moore.

Surviving are her sons, Jerry D. Wheeler (Diane Carpenter), Joe D. (Brenda) Wheeler, Jay D. (Janell) Wheeler, and Bill P. (Melissa) Wheeler, all of Caldwell; a daughter-in-law, Darla K. Wheeler of Ava; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers- and sisters-in law.

Friends may call Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 2-5PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday at 1PM. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery. An online guestbook may be signed at www.mcvay-perkins.com
