Caldwell Wins Four to Stay Undefeated
By Julie LaFollette
The Caldwell Redskins hosted River on Saturday, with the Redskins remaining unbeaten, 54-28.
“It is hard to play four games in a week, especially with back-to-back game twice,” Caldwell Head Coach Clint Crane commented. “That’s an NBA kind of schedule. We didn’t play really well last night and managed to find a way to win, which was good. Then we came back tonight, and we started fast. We had a really good first half and we needed to do that. It’s been four or five games since we had a quick start. It takes the confidence away from them and it also helps you get deeper into your rotation, to play some more guys, which is good.”
“We find ways to win,” Coach Crane continued. “It is not always the prettiest sometimes. I’d like to see us be a little more locked in and finish games. We don’t really have that killer instinct. We built a big lead and then we just kind of coast. We stop doing things that got us. Obviously, we were working on some different things in the second half tonight, but it’s kind of where we are at.”
The Redskins started the game with an eight-point run before the Pilots got on the board. The Redskins led by 16 late in the first quarter on a trey by Dylan Schott but a River three closed it to 19-6 at the end of the period.
