Lady Redskins Get Fourth Win of the Season

The Caldwell Lady Redskins got their fourth win of the season when they visited Shadyside on Thursday, 55-38.
“It was good to get back into the win column,” Caldwell Head Coach Gary “Tut” Turner stated. “We started out a little slow but came back in the second quarter thanks to our defensive pressure. We are still battling injuries and are hoping to be healthy for the stretch run. We still are working hard and are getting better.”
The Lady Tigers started the game quickly, building a 19-9 lead at the end of the first quarter, led by Kamryn Parker with eight points in the frame,
Caldwell put the pressure on in the second quarter, holding Shadyside to just two points with the full court press. Laynie Sidwell put in 11 points to give the Lady Redskins a 32-21 lead at the half.
The Lady Redskins built a 49-28 lead after three quarters of play and cruised to the 55-38 win.
Sidwell led Caldwell with 14 points followed by Lexi Franklin with 12. Breighlee Moracco had eight steals and seven assists.
Caldwell hosted Morgan on Saturday, with the Lady Raiders earning the 42-33 win.
The Lady Redskins led 9-8 after one quarter of play but the Lady Raiders took the lead in the second quarter and led 23-19 at the half. Caldwell came back and tied the game at 26 going into the fourth quarter. Morgan outscored Caldwell down the stretch and won the game 42-33.
Moracco led Caldwell with 18 points and six steals while Camy Crock had eight rebounds.
The 4-13 Lady Redskins will host Newcomerstown on Monday and Dover on Wednesday.
