L. Kay Clark

L. Kay Clark, age 86, of Senecaville, died Sunday, December 14, 2025 at her home. She was born March 17, 1939 in Caldwell, daughter of the late Barney and Mary Jo Ferguson Heddleson. Kay was a 1957 graduate of Caldwell High School and a retired Post Master for the United States Postal Service, having worked in Pleasant City and Senecaville.  She was a member of the Senecaville United Methodist Church where she was a Lay Leader. Kay was active in the community, having served as a board member for the Robert T. Secrest Senior Citizen Center in Senecaville, was a 4-H Leader in Guernsey County for many years, was a member of the Noble County Cruzers and local Homemakers Club.  She was an accomplished cook and baker, making countless birthday and wedding cakes. When she and late husband Zedrick operated the Derwent Auction House she made all of the pies that were sold there.  Her family fondly remembers her delicious custard pies. She was an excellent seamstress, often altering wedding dresses and clothing of all kinds. Kay was always active, with the Senior Center, retired postal employees, or just spending time with friends.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents Kay is preceded in death by her husband, the late Zedrick J. Clark, whom she married in 1957 and who died in 2020; her siblings, Jerry Heddleson, her twin Ray Heddleson and Bobbi Pritchett.

Surviving are her children, Jon R. Clark of Senecaville, Lisa L. (Richard) Bradford of Caldwell and Zedrick A. (Tamara) Clark of Columbus; her siblings, Jim Heddleson of Caldwell, Don Heddleson of Columbus and Bill Heddleson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Keith) Haevens, Cathy (Bojan) Mitkovska, Becky (Dakota) Sayre, Zedrick J. “Jack” Clark and Zoe Clark; five great-grandchildren, Zach, Katie, and Ethan Haevens, Delilah and Daisy Sayre; brother-in-law, James R. (Nancy) Clark of Pleasant City; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Clark of Belle Valley; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street in Caldwell. The funeral will be observed Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at the Senecaville United Methodist Church, 203 South High Street in Senecaville, with Pastors Nancy Parsons and Kris Bright officiating.  Burial will be in Senecaville Cemetery.  The family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Guernsey, 9711 East Pike Road, Cambridge, Ohio 43725 or online at www.hospiceofguernsey.com.
