Raymond Leasure

Raymond R. Leasure, age 95, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, March 6, 2026, at Altercare Summit Acres in Caldwell. He was born September 14, 1930, in Monroe County, Ohio, son of the late William and Annie Brown Leasure. Raymond worked as a carpenter for O.G. Rubel, and as farm manager for Gary Rubel in Monroe County. He retired from Big C Ranch in Noble County. Raymond was Methodist by faith. He enjoyed trapping and root hunting, especially with his kids. He was devoted to his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geneva G. Pierce Leasure, whom he married May 17, 1958, and who died April 4, 2015; one step-daughter, Nina Jo Hamrick; one grandson, William Ray Leasure; and one step-grandson, Scott Hamrick.

Surviving are one daughter, Nancy L. Smith of Caldwell; two sons, Raymond “Junior” (Peggy) Leasure and David W. (Michelle) Leasure both of Caldwell; one step-daughter, Trudy W. (Doug) Hitzel of Cambridge; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation was observed and there will be no visitation or services at this time. Private inurnment will be at Tabor Ridge Cemetery. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street in Caldwell is caring for the family. An online guestbook may be signed at www.mcvay-perkins.com.
