Louise Carrel

Louise Carrel age 91, of Caldwell, Ohio passed away Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Summit Acres Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Caldwell, OH. She was born July 25, 1928 in Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late William “Bill” and Alice Gorley Theiss.

Louise was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Caldwell. She was a former 4-H Advisor, enjoyed canning, Bluegrassing, horse racing, and traveling to county fairs. She most loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Gerald E. Carrel, whom she married Nov. 28, 1946 and who passed Jan. 26, 1979; friend Richard C. Teeters; 2 brothers Tom Theiss and Link Theiss; sister Emogene P. Young.

Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Patsy (Dave) Coyle of Caldwell, Peggy (Rick) Davis of Pleasant City, OH, and Penny (Paul) Stoneking of West Virginia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Don (Carolyn) Theiss of Orville, OH; three sisters Caroline Davis of Caldwell, Tricky (Larry) Arnold of New Lexington, Ohio, and Marie Duffalo of Caldwell; 2 sisters-in-law Imogene DeVolld of Caldwell and Nancy Theiss of Lower Salem, Ohio; brother-in-law William L. “Bill” Young of Caldwell. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, March 16, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will conclude visitation Monday at 12:00 p.m. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Brent Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Crooked Tree Cemetery.
