Bill E. Chandler

Bill E. Chandler age 63 of Caldwell, formerly of Hunkadori, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at his home under the care of Hospice of Guernsey Inc. He was born March 24, 1957 in Marietta, Ohio, a son of Nellie R. Hughes Chandler of Caldwell and the late Edward V. “Eddie” Chandler.

He was a 1975 graduate of the Caldwell High School; he went on to work at the former National Aluminum Manufacturing Plant for 11 years before getting on full time at the Caldwell Post Office as a rural mail carrier. He was still employed at the Post Office following 32 years of service, a job he dearly loved. He was a member of the Keith United Methodist Church and the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association. Along with his wife Sherry, he loved to travel with great friends Doug and Alice Bond. He enjoyed traveling to Amish Country along with his auction buddies, stopping at the Shoney’s buffet along the way. He loved wheeling and dealing on anything especially farm equipment. He rarely missed an auction or a good sale, especially setting up at the Reinersville Flea Market. Most of all he was a family man and loved to spend time with them.

His memory and laugh will be cherished by his family, his wife of 43 years Sherry Gardner Chandler, whom he married June 5, 1976; 3 children Stacy (Jon) Morgenstern, Bryan (Kim) Chandler, and Adam (Jessi) Chandler all of Caldwell; grandchildren Alexis, Hallie, Brie Morgenstern, Preston, Ella, Pyper, Gavin, Gage, Gabi, and Gannet Chandler; 2 brothers Phil (Beth) Chandler of Caldwell and Steve (Debbie) Chandler of Gilbert, AZ; 4 nephews Kurt “FB2”, Jason, Justin, & Nick Chandler. He is also survived by a large extended family and many friends.
