Beatrice “Bea” Kay Charlton Finley

Beatrice “Bea” Kay Charlton Finley age 76, of Caldwell, Ohio, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2020 at the Summit Acres Skilled Nursing & Rehab. She was born March 11, 1944 in Belle Valley, OH a daughter of the late Basil and Margaret Ellison Charlton.

She was a graduate of the former Sarahsville High School. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Charlton Feldner and Patricia Charlton Rossiter; brother Cyler Charlton.

Bea and husband Jimmy Finley were married on September 1, 1963 and over their 56 years built a life of family, farming, and love of the outdoors. After a short time working at Gillespie’s Drug Store Bea spent her life as a homemaker, an avid bird watcher, and gardener, whose flowers could be admired. She was a card shark, puzzler, and wonderful cook and baker. She was best known for her famous chocolate chip cookies and sweet tea. Bea found value in journaling her daily farm life and keeping detailed scrapbooks of every member of her family and their accomplishments. Bea was most often found in her bonnet tending to her vegetable, strawberry, and flower gardens, which gave her great joy. Her large sunflower heads, robust vegetables, and fruits, as well as her baking, won many blue ribbons at the Noble County Fair.

In addition to her husband Jimmy, those left to cherish her memory include her sister Sara (Stephen) Bond; sons Christopher (Betty) Finley, Matthew Finley and Debbie Finley, and Andrew (Laurie) Finley; grandchildren Zachary and Monica Finley; Brooke (Craig) Campbell, and Levi Finley; Ethan (Abbie) Finley, Erin Finley, and Logan Finley; great-grandchildren Conner, Brycen, and Charlotte Campbell, and Ellis Finley; along with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Special thanks to friends Peggy Feldner, Janelle Wheeler, Carol Mizik, Debbie Moore, and Chrissy Thompson. Also, thanks to the caring staff of SEORMC, Guernsey Hospice Inc., and Summit Acres.
