Summer is a popular time for families to take a vacation. So how can this be done safely in the middle of a global pandemic? First, understand that coronavirus is present everywhere not just in your hometown. A vacation away from home does not give you immunity to the virus. In fact, some popular vacation spots are now hot spots, with rising numbers of positive cases. Travel there increases the risk for contracting corona virus, spreading it to others, and bringing it home to Noble County. In other words, no matter where your vacation destination, whether it is within Noble County, Ohio, another state, or the featured environment is the beach, campground, or a historical site, coronavirus is there!

In order to keep you and your family safe and healthy on vacation, plan to practice the same safety precautions you were doing at home. Precautions like frequent hand washing, social distancing (maintaining 6 feet away from others outside of your group) and wearing a mask or facial covering. Remember as difficult as it may be, stay home if you are sick, have been exposed to someone with the virus or if you are a high-risk individual. Be a smart vacationer and pack these safety precautions with you just like you pack clothing and toiletries in your suitcase!

Additional tips for safe vacationing and travel rules imposed by other states and countries can be found at the Centers for Disease Control website, cdc.gov.

“If you are planning to escape the hustle and bustle of life for a relaxing vacation remember you cannot escape being exposed to coronavirus no matter where your travels take you!”

Be safe and stay well Noble County!!!
