Kenneth R. “Ron” Hickman

Kenneth R. “Ron” Hickman, age 72, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. He was born November 28, 1948, in Caldwell, son of the late Kenneth and Betty J. Hupp Hickman. Ron was a 1966 graduate of Shenandoah High School, and he retired as an electrician from the Ohio Department of Transportation, where he was also a truck driver. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Cambridge. Ron enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and traveling, especially to Amish country. He loved to sit on his back porch swing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda C. Gibson Hickman; and one brother, Kelvin Hickman.

Surviving are his wife, Karen S. Warne Hickman, whom he married June 17, 2016; two sons, Kenneth D. “Danny” (Donna J.) Hickman and Jason A. (Laura L.) Hickman, all of Caldwell; two step-sons, Scott Black of Senecaville and Cory Black of Caldwell; three sisters, Janice B. Gibson and Joyce J. Young, both of Caldwell, and Debra L. (Jack) Hansis of Marietta; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call Monday, December 7, 2020, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1 p.m. with Bishop Robert Garman officiating. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery. Guests are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing at all gatherings as required by the state of Ohio.
