Gertrude E. (Nauer) Nau
Gertrude E. (Nauer) Nau was born September 4, 1930 in Burkhart, Ohio. She was married to Richard Nau on August 25, 1951 entered eternal life on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Genesis Hospice in Zanesville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Blanche (Crum) Nauer, her son, Donald F. Nau, her sister, Lucille (Richard) Michel, her brothers Herman (Mary Lou) Nauer and Leo (Helen) Nauer.
Gertrude is survived by her husband Richard, her brother Joseph (Eileen) Nauer of Canton, sons Fr. Thomas Nau of Steubenville, Paul (Patty) Nau and her daughter Doris (David) King all of Caldwell. Grandchildren Dustin (Alicia) Nau, Donnie (Dee) Nau, Mallory (Brian) Robinson, Melanie (Tony) Kress, Samuel (Kayla) Nau, Nathan Nau, and Adam King and her sister-in-law, Marie Lisk of Canton. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She enjoyed the blessing of her great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Mya-Lynn, Landis, Layke, Jeremy, Jaeley, Kaeley, Jasen, William, Noah, Isaac and Daniel.
She was an active member of St. Mary Parish until her health prevented her participation.
Hobbies: quilting, cooking. Many enjoyed the “chocolate sandwich” cookies.
She was a member of the St. Mary CWC and often helped with the preparations of meals for funerals and weddings.
“My favorite kind of exercise is to stop and pray.”
The family will observe a private Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda, with Bishop Monforton serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family is planning a public Mass to celebrate Gertrude’s life for a later date in the fall. Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
