Mabel Arlene Leasure Day
Mabel Arlene Leasure Day, age 98, of West Lafayette and Caldwell, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the Beckett House in New Concord. Born January 4, 1922, in Stafford, to the late Frank and Ora Todd Leasure, she married Arthur L. Day on October 22, 1960. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1997. She was also formerly married to the late Wilmer “Red” Ross. She is also preceded in death by her three siblings, Richard, Frank, Jr., and Helen Grace.
Mrs. Day attended school in Mt. Ephraim, Ohio. She retired from Jones Metal in West Lafayette after dedicating 40 years of service to the company. She was Baptist by faith. Throughout her life, Mrs. Day never forgot a birthday and loved all of her family dearly. She had a special place in her heart for her cat, Furby.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Clayton) Brown of Ava; her step-daughter, Sharon (Stephen) Conrad of Howard; her two grandsons, Chad and Jonathan; her two great-grandchildren, Taton Brown and Cameron Laipply; her great-great-grandson, Kenneth Laipply; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be observed Monday, December 28, 2020, at 1p.m. at West Lawn Cemetery in Newcomerstown with Ken Perkins officiating.
