Mitchell “Mitch” J. Smithberger

Mitchell “Mitch” J. Smithberger age 69, of Senecaville, Ohio passed away, due to complications from the Coronavirus, Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. He was born August 1, 1951 in Noble County, Ohio a son of the late William and Margaret Yacko Smithberger.

He was a 1969 graduate of the Meadowbrook High School. He was a member of the Harmony Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Ohio. He retired with over 30 years of service as an employee of the City of Cambridge working at the wastewater treatment plant. Mitch will always be remembered as a wonderful grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in all their activities.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Connie K. Thompson Smithberger, whom he married May 5, 1973; 3 children Lorrie (John) Waers of Caldwell, Jon (Letitia) Smithberger of Byesville, Ohio, and Adam (Shana) Smithberger of Wakeman, Ohio; six grandchildren Logan and Denali Waers, Nora, Jake, Leland, and Waylon Smithberger; 1 brother William (Cheryl) Smithberger of Berea, Kentucky. He is also survived by many friends.

The family will observe private family services, with inurnment held at Buffalo Cemetery at a later date.
