Junior D. King
Junior D. King, age 91, of Summerfield, Ohio, died Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Altercare Summit Acres in Caldwell. He was born December 24, 1929, in Buffalo, Ohio, son of the late Dewey and Carrie Kirkbride King. Junior attended school in Summerfield. He retired as a dairy farmer after 40 years and sold milk to make cheese. He also worked for Texas Eastern for a short time. He attended Marietta Bible Missionary Church and he enjoyed reading. He was a hard worker. Junior was a loving husband and the best daddy a daughter could ask for.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur “Dick” King, who died in the Korean War; and a sister, Beatrice Allen Sponcil.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Thompson King, whom he married in 1976; his daughter Krista G. King of the home; one sister, Mildred Racey of Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday, January 10, 2021, from 1-3 p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 3 p.m. with Rev. Bill Grizer officiating. Burial will follow at East Union Cemetery. Guests are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing as required by the state of Ohio at all gatherings.
