John S. Goodhart

John S. Goodhart age 87, of Belle Valley, Ohio passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 24, 1933 in Calais, Ohio a son of the late Ward S. and Mary L. Brown Goodhart.

He served and protected his nation in the U.S. Army during the Korea War. He was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Belle Valley. He retired from the former Glacier Vandervell Manufacturing Plant in Caldwell in 1996. He loved woodworking in his free time.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son-in-law Thomas “Tom” Morris Jr.; two brothers, Cecil Goodhart and Glenn Goodhart; a sister, Ella Mae Goodhart.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Marlene R. Warner Goodhart, whom he married July 6, 1963; three children, Lisa Morris of Cumberland, Ohio, Holly (Randy) Harriman of Caldwell, Ohio, and Darren (Rachel) Goodhart of Cambridge, Ohio; three grandchildren, Gary Morris, Cassie Morris, and Sienna Harriman “Rosebud;” one great-grandchild, Emma Morris “Half Pint;” sister Helen Weiss of Woodsfield, Ohio. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 3 – 7 p.m. at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with a Vigil Service to conclude visitation at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Father Wayne Morris officiating. Military honors will be conducted following the funeral service by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Caldwell. (Per the Governor’s current Covid-19 guidelines, face coverings are required to attend all services, thank you for your cooperation.)
