Mary E. Willis Coyle

Mary E. Willis Coyle, age 96, of Caldwell, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the hospital in Winfield, Alabama. She was a great mom who loved her children very much. She had many accomplishments in life, but one she was most proud of was her four children and four grandchildren who are military veterans. She portrayed Mary Todd Lincoln with her husband of almost 72 years, Charles J. Coyle, who portrayed Abraham Lincoln. She was a member and past worthy matron of the former Order of the Eastern Star, Amazon Chapter # 30, and a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell. She was excellent at playing the piano and organ, which she loved with a passion, and she could usually play without sheet music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Everitte and Mary Evangeline Willis; her brother, William Elmer (Bessie) Willis; and two sisters, Olive Elo (Howard) Duffin and Hilma Willis.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four sons, James (Ruth), David (Patsy), Gary (Sherry), and Lee (Laura); one daughter, Dianne Baker (Roy Hall); 15 grandchildren, Benjamin (Wendy), Jonathan (Staci), Nathan (Cortney), Joshua (Katie), David (Ronda), Laurie, Robert (Alejandra), Carmen (Mike), Kitty Jo (Duane), Eric (Jenn), Rusty (Sabrina), Julie (Ben), Gary, II, Danielle, and Michael; 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several loved nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be observed Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. at Hoskinsville Cemetery with Ken Perkins officiating. An online guestbook may be signed at www.mcvay-perkins.com.
