Monica Chicwak

Monica Chicwak age 64, of Caldwell, Ohio passed away Tuesday morning, May 4, 2021 at the Beckett House in New Concord, Ohio. She was born April 5, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio a daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Klema Zvolensky.

She was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church and their Catholic Women’s Club. She was a 1975 graduate of the Guernsey Catholic High School. She was a former employee of the March Electric Plant in Cambridge. She was a charter member of the Byesville Scenic Railway and a member of the American Croatian Lodge. Monica enjoyed crocheting, baking Slovak food, walking, and visiting with friends at the coffee club at McDonalds.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Mark R. Chicwak, whom she married November 20, 1982; three children Jennifer (Jamey) Moore of Salesville, Ohio, Barbara (Zachary) Rich of Senecaville, Ohio, and Aaron Chicwak of Caldwell; seven grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, and Ellie Moore, Clementine, Penelope, Charolette, and Theodore Rich; siblings Margie (Tom) Miller of Byesville, Ohio, Michael Zvolensky of Benwood, West Virginia, and Stephen (Martha) Zvolensky of Arlington, Virginia. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, May 7, 2021 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724 where a vigil service will conclude visitation at 8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1036 Belford Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with Rev. Father Wayne Morris and Deacon David Wuletich serving as concelebrants. Burial will follow at the Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
