Evelyn Freda Arnold Willmer

Evelyn Freda Arnold Willmer age 82, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 16, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 18, 1938 in Fulda, OH, to the late Beda Francis and Marie Clementine Coleman Arnold.  Evelyn was one of fourteen Arnold children.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 3 sisters Oslene Saling, Bernetta Barrett, and Leona Benner; 3 brothers Roger Arnold, Jim Arnold, and Harold Arnold.

After graduating from Dexter City High School in Dexter City, OH, she moved north and attended business trade school.  Her first job was at the University of Akron.  After U of A, she was employed for over 20 years and considered the unofficial “CEO” of the Credit Union for the Akron Plumber & Pipefitters Union #219.

Evelyn spent the last 53 years married to the love of her life, Erwin Willmer.  The two were inseparable after initially meeting on a blind date.  Together they built a happy and fulfilling life in the Greater Akron, OH area.  Evelyn was a caring and devoted mother to her 2 sons who were her greatest joys in whom she took great pride.  She enjoyed traveling the world as a co-pilot to her loving husband, visiting over 15 countries covering 4 continents.

Evelyn enjoyed gardening, cooking and was a tremendous athlete.  She was a loyal, avid and lifelong Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers fan.  She will be remembered as a loving, selfless, and compassionate wife, mother and sibling, who was extremely attentive to her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Erwin Henry Willmer, 2 sons David John (Kelly) Willmer of New Albany, OH and Daniel James (Inez) Willmer of Pittsburgh, PA; 5 grandchildren Victoria, Lucas, Max, Brady, and Dominic Willmer; 4 brothers Francis (Norma) Arnold, Ron (Diana) Arnold, Melvin (Carolyn) Arnold, and Kenneth Arnold; 3 sisters Donna (Kenny) Crock, Shirley Carna, and Rose (Marlan) Hedge.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda, OH with Rev. Father Wayne Morris serving as celebrant. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
