Lady Colts Sweep New Philly
to Launch Volleyball Season

A season of high expectations got off to a solid start as the Meadowbrook Lady Colts swept past New Philadelphia in three sets – 25-21, 25-15 and 25-17 – in Saturday’s season opening match at home.

Juniors Cami Black and Megan DeVillez led Meadowbrook at the net with 14 and 10 kills, respectively. Junior Kendly Cannon served six aces and junior Ella Jefferis was charted with 25 assists.

Defensively, sophomore Karly Launder collected 13 digs and Black had a dozen.

Coach Kelly Zehnder’s squad begins Muskingum Valley League action this week with two matches – Tuesday at Philo and Thursday at home against Sheridan – the team that knocked MHS out in the OHSAA Division II Regional last fall. JV action begins at 5:30 p.m. both nights.

Thank you for picking up the Meadowbrook area for you online edition. A classy move and one that will benefit the local community, as well as your revenue stream.
