Melissa K. “Missy” McAfee
Melissa K. “Missy” McAfee, age 52, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died Sunday, September 12, 2021, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. She was born November 11, 1968, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Clarence B. and Ruth E. Smith Bates. Missy was a 1987 graduate of Shenandoah High School and she attended Belmont State College. She was employed as a cashier for Riesbeck’s Market for 17 years. She enjoyed reading, singing, baking, and playing Panda Pop. She was devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Bates Pangle Shuster, Margaret Bates Abbott Marlow, and Judith Ann Bates.
Surviving are her husband, Jeffrey A. McAfee, whom she married August 23, 1993; her children, Jami J. McAfee of Caldwell, Jeffrey A. McAfee of Cambridge, Samantha H. (Joseph) Scott of Sarahsville, Hunter L. (Thomas) Farnesworth of Caldwell and Alexzandria K. McAfee of Caldwell and many adopted sons and daughters; three grandchildren and one to be born; her siblings, Gerald L. (Rebecca) Bates, Beverly J. Knepper of Canton, David W. (Linda) Bates of Sarahsville, Diane L. (Jeff) Fogle of Harriettsville, and Brian D. Bates of Caldwell; many adopted grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
