The Village of Caldwell was honored recently at the Eastern Ohio Development Alliance 32nd Annual Meeting, which took place in Walnut Creek, Ohio April 29. The Village, along with Mayor Misty Wells, received the EODA annual Tourism Excellence Award for their work on the “A Village Christmas to Remember” campaign, and for the new skating rink located in the village, both things recognized as being excellent tourism assets.

OSU Noble Community Development Educator and Secretary of the EODA Gwynn Stewart said she was very pleased to nominate the mayor and the village for the recognition. More than 150 members of the alliance, along with numerous guests, attended the event.

“I am humbled and honored to be recognized for our efforts to increase tourism in Noble County,” Mayor Wells said. “This is truly an award earned by so many community members who helped bring my vision to a reality. With the governor’s recent announcement for money for quality of living in Appalachian communities, things are only going to get better. My goal has always been for our youth to want to continue to live, work and play in their own home town!”
