Eileen Carrel

Eileen Carrel, age 87, of Lowell, Ohio, died Sunday, June 5, 2022, at her home. She was born September 4, 1934, in Waterford, daughter of the late Clifford C. and Stella L. Carpenter Hinton. Eileen was a 1955 graduate of Beverly High School and attended secretarial school in Columbus. She was employed as a secretary for Ohio Power in Beverly, and along with her husband, owned and operated a dairy farm for over 50 years. She formerly served as secretary for the Noble County Chapter of the National Farmers Organization. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Coal Run and the Noble County Red Hatters. Eileen enjoyed making latch hook rugs and working search and find books.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Loren Wayne Carrel, whom she married June 2, 1957, and who died July 25, 2005; one son, Dwayne Eugene Carrel, who died March 12, 2004; one great-grandson, Landon Cermak; one sister, Dorothy McKown; two brothers, Bernard and Paul Hinton; and a son-in-law, Tom Stotts.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Jane Stotts of Beverly, Marlene Faye (J.T.) Miller of Malta, and Charlene Kaye Cermak of Antrim; her siblings, Charlotte (Greg) Cantwell of Williamstown, West Virginia and Jim (Nancy) Hinton of Waterford; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday, June 8 at 1 p.m. with Rich Lemal officiating.
