Phillip “Phil” Lee Lasure
Phillip “Phil” Lee Lasure, 67, of Pleasant City, died Friday (July 8, 2022) at OSU Hospice, Columbus.
He was born January 28, 1955 in Zanesville, son of the late Cecil H. Lasure and Violet Leora (Hutson) Lasure.
A graduate of Maysville High School, Phil worked as a case manager for twenty-five years at Muskingum County Job & Family Services. He had also worked at Orme’s Hardware, The Wilds, and was a part-time farmer. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Phil was able to drive semi for several years.
He was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and served as lay leader for the church.
Phil was a member of the Masonic Lafayette Lodge # 79 of Zanesville, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Past Masters Association.
He enjoyed farming, crafts, woodworking, and gardening. He also loved to cook and torment the family.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Patrice (Bond) Lasure, whom he married October 22, 1977; a brother, Stephen J. Lasure of Pleasant City; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Masonic services will be held at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Pleasant City, on Saturday (July 16, 2022) at 10 a.m. Following the service, visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral services will then begin at 12:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Kenneth Hacker and Minister Hobart Forest Bond III officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Pleasant City.
