Opal Jean Love

Opal Jean Love, 84, of Summerfield, Ohio passed away Tuesday,  August 23, 2022 at the Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.

She was born at Caldwell, Ohio on February 8, 1938 a daughter of the late William and Madge Mallett Crum.

She was a homemaker and seamstress and was honored to make the dress for the 1977 Queen of the Sternwheel Festival, Marietta, Ohio.  She was a member of the Summerfield Church of Christ, Summerfield, Ohio.  Jean also was a former cook and reading aid at the Chandlersvile Elementary School Chandlersville, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Love on December 19, 2014; an infant son, James Love; a daughter, Susan Jean Love; a brother, Kenneth Ray Crum.

Surviving are three sons, Frank Love of Parkersburg, W.Va.; Thomas Love of Chandlersville, Ohio; John (Carrie) Love of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one sister Betty (Dean) Wells of Lower Salem, Ohio; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one on the way,  several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday August 30, 2022 with Jimmie Moore and Matthew Love officiating.

Burial will follow in the Stafford Cemetery, Stafford, Ohio.

The family wishes special thanks to the elders of the Summerfield Church of Christ, to the ladies who helped prepare her a daily meal and to Carolyn Neiswonger who was her caregiver for several years.
