Charles (Charlie) Lewis Hill
Charles (Charlie) Lewis Hill, 84, of Lore City and formerly of Sunbury Ohio, passed away at his home on Monday (October 17, 2022).
He was born in Noble County on September 3, 1938, to the late Raphael and Beulah Hill.
Charlie is survived by his amazing wife of 58 years, Shirley; son, Jeffrey (Anessa) Hill; grandson, Travis Hill; great-grandsons, AJ Sparks & Carter Greene; stepson, Richard Dillon; sisters, Murilla (Dave) Mahanna, Jenny (Dave) Wilson & Pamela (Robert) Williams; and many nieces and nephews.
Charlie retired from Lucent Technologies (AT&T) after 36 years of service.
Charlie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all. Family and the great outdoors were his greatest passions. He would spend hours watching the deer and birds from his kitchen window. However, his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his grandchildren, who were very blessed to have him in their lives.
Charlie’s legacy will be that he was honest, fair, and occasionally a little stubborn. He was always willing to lend a helping hand or opinion when asked. He had an ornery smile that captured everyone’s heart and he will be sadly missed.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Taylor Hill Sparks; stepson, Robert Dillon; and stepdaughter, Terry Rosa.
A celebration of life will be held on November 20, 2022, at the Pritchard Laughlin Center (7033 Glenn Highway, Cambridge OH 43725) at 2 p.m.
