Rose Marie Williams Sholtis
Rose Marie Williams Sholtis, age 86, of Mt. Ephraim, Ohio, died Friday, January 27, 2023, at Altercare Summit Acres in Caldwell. She was born February 2, 1936, in Noble County, daughter of the late Rodney R. and Zola Niswonger Williams. Rose was a 1953 graduate of Sarahsville High School. Over the years, she was employed in The Journal-Leader office and by Permian Gas, both in Caldwell. She was a member of the Mt. Ephraim United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women and the Order of the Eastern Star in Stafford. Rose enjoyed making rag rugs, ceramics, and hard rock candy. She was devoted to her family and loved going to her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Sholtis, whom she married September 18, 1955, and who died December 10, 2020; one grandson, Brandon James Sholtis; and one sister, Betty Williams Dunaway.
Surviving are her children, James R. Sheila) Sholtis of Caldwell and Anthony B. Sholtis of Mt. Ephraim; eight grandchildren, Ashley (Josh) McClean, Eric (Amber) Sholtis, Heath (Hannah) Sholtis, Sierra (Cole) Giesey, Josh (Dani) Sholtis, Dakota (Lydia) Ginn, Karyssa (Brent) Miller, and Deryk Ginn (Shasta Roberts); 17 great-grandchildren; four nieces and two nephews; and a brother-in-law, Robert (Joyce) Sholtis of Caldwell.
A private service will be observed by the family and burial will take place at Mt. Ephraim Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt.
