Supermarket Employee Appreciation Day, held on February 22, is a day designated for the food industry to recognize all employees for the fantastic work that they do. The Shenandoah Elementary School’s fifth and sixth grade Food and Nutrition classes took their food truck to Caldwell to serve the employees of Caldwell Food Center, Caldwell Save-A-Lot and Food Center Marathon.
Under the direction of Julie Harper, the students prepared and served a meal of loaded baked potatoes with brisket, brisket sandwiches and mac and cheese with brisket. They also prepared a multitude of desserts including cheesecakes, cupcakes and chocolate covered Oreos and s’mores
from their Shenandoah Eats, Sweets & Zep Treats Food Truck.
