Frederick John Ulrich

Frederick John Ulrich of Lewisville, OH, born June 14, 1941, passed away the morning of Tuesday June 6, 2023 at his home with his wife of 56 years by his side.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda Reed Ulrich, whom he married November 12, 1966; three children: Mary Ulrich, Melinda Weisend (Darrell) and Michael Ulrich (Marcia); six grandchildren: Laken Warner (Dean Stuart), Cammi Warner (Thomas Kerr), Cole Ulrich, Delaney Weisend, Devan Weisend, and Alyssa Phillips. He was a “good ol’ buddy” to many, and a brother to four: Carol Brown and Theresa Farnsworth (Clayton) of Lewisville, Mary Brown of Wichita, KS, and Joe Ulrich (Joyce) of Port Washington, WI.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Mary Ulrich, née Dick, also by special Uncle John A. Ulrich.

Fred was a husband who adored his wife; a caring uncle; a great- grandfather to three (Callum and Lauren Kerr, and Henrik Stuart); the hardest worker; and a man of God. He will forever be missed at church hall bingo, square dances, his garage where he tinkered on tractors, and by his wife and his dog, Sadie.

Fred worked with heavy machinery as a Teamster. He was also a long-time employee of Gary A. Rubel and Baker & Sons Equipment Company.  He will always be remembered as the first to arrive and the last to leave. Fred most enjoyed his time as an apprentice auctioneer. Fred was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Sylvester Catholic Church.

Friends may be received at Watters Funeral Home in Woodsfield  from 2 – 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 11. A viewing will be held Monday June 12 and Tuesday June 13 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Woodsfield from 4-7 p.m. Fred will be laid to rest on his 82nd birthday, Wednesday, June 14, with Mass at St. Sylvester Catholic Church at 11 a.m. and burial at St. Joseph Chapel Hill Cemetery to follow.
