Gaye Evette Kackley

Gaye Evette Kackley, 70, of Byesville, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville.

She was born July 2, 1952 in Cambridge, daughter of the late William R. Barnett and Carrie M. (Roberts) Barnett.

Gaye was a 1970 graduate of Meadowbrook High School and had worked at G&L Services and Meridian. She later retired from the Rolling Hills Local School District.  She was an honorary FFA member and a lifetime alumni member.

She loved cooking and seeing everyone at the corn barn.  She loved going to the beach and playing with her grandchildren.  Gaye was a loving mother and wife, who always put others first.

She attended the Derwent United Methodist Church.

Gaye is survived by her husband, Robert Kackley, whom she married October 17, 1970; her son, Bill (Laura) Kackley; her daughter, Alissa Wood (Scott Ayers); her grandchildren, Grace Kackley, Mason Kackley, Jackson Kackley, Gillian Wood (Dustin Ehrnfield), and Hoyt Wood; and her aunt, Kay Dudley.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Roger Morrow officiating.

As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Gaye’s name to the Meadowbrook FFA Alumni, in care of Peoples Bank, 221 S 2nd Street, Byesville OH 43723.
