Jerry S. “Country” Hood
Jerry S. “Country” Hood, age 71, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. He was born September 21, 1951, in Lithia Springs, Georgia, son of the late Oliver Jerry and Bessie Jo Sibley Hood. Jerry was a graduate of Salem High School in Salem, Ohio, and was a United States Marine Corp veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam. He was a self-employed maintenance man who was multi-talented, having welded, fabricated, and painted. He was a life member of the Brothers and Outriders Motorcycle Club and a member of the Caldwell VFW Post #4721 and the American Legion Post #449 in Kenmore. Jerry loved riding motorcycles and raced motorcycles for many years. He was a multi-national champion in Hare and TT scrambles, flat track racing and motorcross. His life spoke for itself.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by and infant brother.
Surviving are his wife, Lois C. Chapman Hood, whom he married in 2011; one son, Jerry J. “County” Hood of Summerfield; two grandchildren, Dixie Y. Hood and Aaron O. Hood, both of Summerfield; and many club brothers and friends.
