Richard A. DeVolld

Richard A. DeVolld, age 78, of Cuenca, Ecuador, formerly of Noble County, Ohio, died Saturday, August  19, 2023, in Cuenca. He was born June 3, 1945, in Caldwell, Ohio, son of the late F. Marshall and Irene Hess DeVolld. Richard was a graduate of Belle Valley High School and graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. Richard loved to travel, and visited Canada, Spain, Algeria, France, Malta, Egypt, England, the Dominican Republic, Belize, Guatemala, Mexico, Columbia, Brazil, and Ecuador.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Claudette DeVolld; and two brothers, James DeVolld and Donald DeVolld.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jean Thompson DeVolld; two children, Christopher Allen DeVolld of Canton, Ohio, and Lorie A. (John) White of Mississippi; two grandchildren, Derrick C. Ciacci and Jensen E. Ciacci; two great-grandchildren, Stella J. Ciacci and Dax C. Ciacci; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial visitation will be observed Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 2-6 p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life service will follow visitation at 6 p.m. with Ken Perkins officiating.
