By Tara Estadt

Shenandoah sophomore, Braxton Barnett, finished his indoor track season in spectacular fashion. He competed at the OATCCC (Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches) D2/D3 Indoor State Meet on Saturday, March 2nd at the Spire Institute in Geneva, OH. To qualify for this meet, an athlete had to earn a top 24 performance in an event by the end of the regular indoor season. Barnett not only qualified, but held top performances in 4 events.

When asked about his experience, Barnett said, “It was a long eventful day, but I was happy to represent Shenandoah and have a fun time with my family and coaches.” He brought home medals in the long jump and 60m hurdles. He placed 5th in long jump, with a PR at 21’ 6” and 8th in the 60m hurdles, with a time of 8.37. Barnett placed 20th in the 200m dash with a time of 23.40. He jumped 6’ 0” to place 15th overall in the high jump.
