Ruth E. Duffey
Ruth E. Duffey, age 77, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Monday, August 5, 2024, at her home. She was born August 6, 1947, in Mohegan, McDowell County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Henry H. and Stella A. Lang King. Ruth was employed as a punch press operator for WLS Stamping in Cleveland. She was a member of the former Center Free Methodist Church in Sarahsville and was a devoted Christian. She enjoyed cooking, and she was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Franklin “Shorty” Duffey, whom she married June 24, 1967, and who died January 30, 2018; three grandchildren, Michael A. Duffey, Christopher L. Duffey, and Carson A. Duffey, Jr.; a son-in-law, Carson A. Duffey, Sr.; and one brother, Henry W. King.
Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Duffey and Roxanna Delp (Tony Hanes), all of Pleasant City; one sister, Loretta L. Lambert of Buffalo; two half-sisters, Gloria J. King of Welch, West Virginia, and Carol S. King of Beckley, West Virginia; a half-brother, Henry H. King of McDowell County, West Virginia; a son-in-law, Angel Laureano of Summerfield; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Charles A. Duffey.
Friends may call Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Cater officiating.
