Sandra Marie Birch
Sandra Marie Birch, age 65, of Cambridge, Ohio, passed away Monday January 13, 2025 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio. Sandra was born on March 19, 1959 to the late John Birch Sr. and Clara Worthington Birch in Wheeling WV.
Sandy loved life and so many things, but most of all she enjoyed and cherished being with family, friends, her pets over the years and especially her grandson.
Sandy started working in high school doing alterations at Fred Raymond’s. She was a wonderful seamstress. Sandy graduated a year early from Cambridge High School in 1976 so she could work full-time and was a hard worker her entire life.
She loved playing scrabble with her mom and son Alex. Her love for baking came from her mom who taught her to make nut rolls as a young child. Sandy was known to bring baked goods and fresh canned foods when she came to visit.
Sandy enjoyed traveling, gardening of flowers and vegetables, and canning, including zucchini, relish, green beans, corn, and jams. She liked riding the motorcycle with John and friends, including day and overnight trips. Sandy was a red coat and loved Ohio State Football. She volunteered at Breaking Free Therapeutic Riding Center and loved seeing the children’s smiles and gentleness of the horses. Sandy loved being outside and taking trail walks with her dogs Lizzy and Griffin. She loved supporting and cheering on Luke at his soccer and basketball games.
As most of us know, Sandy loved shopping and you would see her and her best friend Cheryl finding bargains and having lots of laughs. She was the joy to many lives.
Along with her parents Sandra is preceded in death by a son Alexander Louis Birch.
Sandra is survived by her partner/companion, John Taylor; a grandson Lucas LaFollette; her siblings, Barbara Birch, John Birch Jr., Roger & Mary-Ruth Birch and Craig Birch; an uncle Glenn Worthington; her nephews, Judd Birch, Sean Birch, Levi Birch, Josh Birch and Kyle Birch; a niece Amanda Birch; a cousin Terry Worthington; and by many friends.
