By Julie LaFollette
The Shenandoah Lady Zeps hosted the Caldwell Lady Redskins on Thursday and got the season sweep with a 54-47 come-from-behind victory.
“The girls fought hard clear to the end,” Shenandoah Head Coach Lauren Thompson stated. “We struggled in the beginning to get our shots to fall but we stayed strong and kept working hard. I think we played very good defense and pulled it through at the end. I am very proud of this team; we worked hard, hit the foul shots, and came in clutch when we needed to.”
“I am proud of our kids and the effort they put in,” Caldwell Head Coach Gary “Tut” Turner commented. “We just have to get a better understanding of the time clock and how to finish games. We had the lead and turned it over three straight trips down the floor trying to be in a hurry when we didn’t need to be in a hurry. I’m proud of them. We had a good week and are getting better. We played three tough games this week and we’ve been in all the games.”
