Barbara J. Bober

Barbara J. Bober, age 88, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, June 16, 2025, at Altercare Summit Acres. She was born February 22, 1937, in Springfield, daughter of the late Walter and Valeria Mazgay Bober. Barbara was a graduate of Caldwell High School, where she played the saxophone in the band, and she was a 1959 graduate of Muskingum University, where she earned a degree in education. She retired as an elementary school teacher after 35 years from Como Elementary School in the Columbus City School District. Barbara was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, where she was a member of its Catholic Women’s Club and the church choir. Along with her friend Tally Hill, they decorated the church for many years. She was a big sports fan who enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, Duke University, and the Cleveland Browns. She also was an avid Caldwell sports fan. She mentored many young people, family and friends, and passed on many good things to young people.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her lifelong friend, Tally Hill.

Surviving are many cousins and friends.

Friends may call Friday, June 20, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a vigil service will follow visitation at 7 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 10AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Rev.
