Theodore J. “Teddy Joe” Mazgay

Theodore J. “Teddy Joe” Mazgay, age 59, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born November 24, 1966 in Cambridge, son of Ted E. Mazgay of Caldwell and the late Linda L. Carter Mazgay. Teddy Joe was a 1986 graduate of Caldwell High School, where he was a standout football and baseball player. He retired from UPS in Columbus as a handler with 28 years of service. Teddy Joe was Roman Catholic by faith. He enjoyed fishing and played rec league softball for as long as he was able. He was an avid sports fan, following the Cleveland Guardians, the Cleveland Browns and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Teddy Joe’s family remember him as being devoted to his family, a wonderful friend, and having an amazing sense of humor.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Sophie Marie Mazgay.

Surviving in addition to his father, are his siblings, Jimmy R. Mazgay, Mindy J. (Randy) McElfresh and Stacey L. (Danny) Saling all of Caldwell; his nieces and nephews, Lyndsay M. (Jason) Arick, Kyler M. (Holly) McElfresh, Haylee R. (Austin) Mettler and Brennan A. Saling; great-nieces and nephews, Aiden, Carter, Kendal, Colie and Cami Arick; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
