Dean “Deano” Wickham

Dean “Deano” Wickham, age 82, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born July 13, 1943, in Zanesville, son of the late Ira Lloyd and Clara Belle Pickenpaugh Wickham. Dean was a 1961 graduate of Cumberland High School. He retired as a dozer operator from Central Ohio Coal Company, and he owned and operated a family cattle farm for over 40 years. He was a member of the Belle Valley United Methodist Church, the United Mine Workers of America, Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM, Valley of Cambridge AASR, 32nd degree mason, and the York Right Masonic Bodies. Dean loved to run beagles and hunt rabbits and he was a beekeeper. He collected John Deere tractors and enjoyed going to ball games. He loved to joke and have fun, and he was devoted to his family. He loved spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

He is survived by his wife, Iris Kay Lisak Wickham, whom he married January 25, 1964; his son, Nicholas D. Wickham of Caldwell; four grandchildren, Amber M. (Caleb) Gunn of Caldwell, Nicole C. (Mark) Green of Adamsville, and Nickolai I. Wickham (Jensen Lanning) and Charli J. Wickham (Seth Archer), all of Cumberland; five great-grandchildren, Dalila, Tucker, Landyn, Lane, and Logan; his siblings, Elvin Lee (Janet Kay) Wickham and Carolyn Anna (David) Sayre, all of Senecaville; a brother-in-law, Milton Lisak of Caldwell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Friends may call Monday, April 13, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a masonic rites service will follow visitation at 8 p.m. The funeral service will be observed Tuesday, April 14 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Stephen Hannum officiating. Burial will follow at Hiramsburg Cemetery.
