Lois C. Chapman

Lois C. Chapman, age 67, of Summerfield, Ohio, died Friday, May 29, 2026, at WVU Medicine – Barnesville Hospital in Barnesville. She was born October 24, 1958, in Akron, daughter of the late Leroy and Lois Hummel Chapman. Over the years, she worked in print shops and as a bartender. Lois was very patriotic and loved her country, and she loved being a grandma.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry S. “Country” Hood, whom she married in 2011 and who died August 24, 2023; and two sisters, Linda Schartiger and Loretta Chapman.

Surviving are her son, Jerry J. “County” (Sarah) Hood of Summerfield; three grandchildren, Aleah Woods, Dixie Hood, and Aaron Hood; one sister, Laura Life of Akron; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including cousin Cheryl Musgrave, who was like a sister.

There will be no service at this time and a memorial service will be observed at a later date
