Gay Junior “Bugs” Pitts
Gay Junior “Bugs” Pitts, age 82, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Altercare Summit Acres. He was born April 29, 1944, in Caldwell, son of the late Gay and Kathryn Johnson Pitts. Gay was a graduate of Caldwell High School and was a United States Army veteran, having been stationed in Germany. He retired as a highway driller for the Ohio Department of Transportation. In his spare time, he enjoyed gambling, playing the lottery, and going to horse and dog races. Gay was a member of the Caldwell Free Methodist Church, and he cared for his nieces, nephews, and family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Thompson and Jeanie Lincicome; and a niece-in-law, Tina Tilton.
Surviving are his nieces and nephews, Allen D. “Peach” Tilton of Caldwell, Brenda S. Tilton of Cleveland, North Carolina, Lisa L. Hardwick of Mooresville, North Carolina, Chris G. Tilton of Canal Winchester, Kevin E. Lincicome of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Darlene R. Miziker of Byesville; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Friends may call Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 11a.m.-1p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. A veteran’s graveside service will follow visitation at Olive Cemetery led by David Wells. Sorry to learn of Junior’s passing. I was a class mate from grade 1 to Graduation.;Junior was a great guy!
