David M. “Squeek” Hill
David M. “Squeek” Hill, age 82, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Altercare Summit Acres. He was born September 8, 1942, in Caldwell, son of the late Everett F. and Gladys M. Hill. David attended Caldwell High School and was a United States Army veteran, having been stationed in Germany from 1960-1963. He retired as a delivery man for NAPA in Caldwell, and he was also employed over the years by the Noble County Health Department and Landair in Columbus. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and the Caldwell Eagles. David enjoyed going to car shows and NASCAR and dirt track races. He also enjoyed building demolition cars and going to derbies. He loved having cookouts, especially on the Fourth of July at the Noble County Fairgrounds.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Everett Hill; and one brother, Donald (Cuzie) E. Hill.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Sylvia Kaye Boyd Hill, whom he married September 23, 1966; his children, Ines Grzesiek of Germany, Esther Stydinger of Pennsylvania, Anthony (Rockann) Boyd of Pleasant City, and David (Michelle) Hill of Cambridge; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Annamae Smith of Zanesville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Monday, April 14, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1 p.m. with Ken Perkins officiating. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Sharon Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
