Carol J. Hughey
Carol J. Hughey, age 77, of Lowell, Ohio, died Friday, June 26, 2026, at her home. She was born November 24, 1948, in Marietta, daughter of the late Ralph Pontius and Clarice Featherston Smith. Carol was a 1966 graduate of Skyview High School and a graduate of The Beauty Academy in Marietta. She retired from Judy’s Beauty Shop in Warner. Carol loved her home and filled it with antiques. She manicured her yard and loved flower gardening. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, arts and crafts, and reading. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald A. Hughey, whom she married December 26, 1968, and who died May 7, 2022; and one brother, Gary Pontius.
Surviving are her children, Chad C. (Dawn) Hughey of Caldwell and Trisha D. Hughey (Randy Pintac) of Virginia Beach; 8 grandchildren, Morgan (Ryan) Sills, Raechel Rossiter, Christopher Hughey, Rachel Hughey, Devon Clark, MaKayla Rayner (Dominick Claxton), Jason Rayner, II, and Justin Rayner; 4 great-grandchildren; one brother, Timothy (Sue) Pontius of Monclova; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, June 29, 2026, from 3-7PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, June 30th at 11AM with Kris Bright officiating.
