Metering/Substation Technician

Washington Electric Cooperative, Inc., seeks candidates for the full-time position of metering/substation technician.

The metering/substation technician will install, remove, inspect, repair, and read the cooperative’s electric meters and ensure safe, accurate, reliable operation and maintenance of the automated metering system, along with all related communication equipment, hardware, software, and devices. This position will also maintain the cooperative’s substation assets and assist members with service-related requests for inspection and information.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in electrical-related field or additional technical or trade school electrician-related coursework is preferred. Must have or acquire working knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code and National Electric Code, and a working knowledge of utility operations including relevant safety-related work practices.

Position requires the ability to work additional hours as needed. Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
