Seneca Lake Marina “We are counting on you to maintain social distancing so that we are able to remain open.” As warmer weather approaches, MWCD is excited to announce that MWCD operated marinas, welcome centers/ park offices, and cabin rentals will resume operations tomorrow, Friday, May 15. Although not all the amenities we normally offer are fully operational just yet, slowly but surely, we are beginning to add more of the services and amenities our guests enjoy at our lakes as allowed by the State Health Department. We also recently announced that seasonal camping and docking were permitted to resume on May 2, marine fuel sales resumed on May 8, and MWCD Main Offices reopened to the public on May 12. Our staff continues to follow vigorous guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing to ensure the safety for all of us, and our visitors. The opening of the marinas means that retail, bait, and boat rentals will again be available. If you plan to enter one of our facilities, including park offices, social distancing must be followed, and face coverings are strongly encouraged. Visitors who are sick, or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, (see CDC.org) should not enter our buildings. Signage will be on the front door indicating the total number of people permitted to occupy that retail space at one time. This number includes our staff. Also, as a reminder, we have developed special procedures to ensure that social distancing guidelines are maintained for boat rentals and fueling. Look for signage at the marinas upon your arrival regarding these procedures. Cabin reservations will resume on Friday, May 15 at Atwood, Clendening, Piedmont and Tappan Lakes. The cabins at Seneca Lake Park are set to re-open on May 22. The opening for the newly constructed cabins at Pleasant Hill Lake Park remains on hold as the delivery of furnishings has been suspended due to COVID-19. We hope to have an announcement soon on these cabins at Pleasant Hill. Please note that additional cleaning will be implemented between reservations as recommended by the CDC at our cabins. Online reservations are available for boat rentals, and cabin reservations at www.mwcd.org. Daily/ weekly camping reservations and restroom and shower buildings within the campgrounds remain closed at this time. Fishing tournaments are also not yet permitted due to the limitation on public gatherings. We remain hopeful that the Ohio Department of Health will allow us to re-open these facilities and activities soon. We will continue to provide updates on our website and social media. We are counting on you to maintain social distancing so that we are able to remain open. Thank you for your continued patience!! |
