James “Jim” Robert Morrison

James “Jim” Robert Morrison age 82, of Caldwell, Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the Altercare Summit Acres Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Caldwell. He was born October 29, 1939 in Middleburg, Ohio, a son of the late James Henry and Clara Elizabeth Morland Morrison.

 

He attended the Caldwell Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed woodworking and feeding his birds. He started his career working on silos for Marietta Concrete, then he worked as a coal miner for B&N Coal and Central Ohio Coal. He then went on to operate dozer at King Quarries and finally, he worked at Food Center for several years caring for their maintenance. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Union Local #1604.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Frances Elaine Philpot Morrison whom he married March 25, 1961 and who passed away September 4, 2021; siblings Irene McCune, Charles Morrison, and Louise Martin; nephew Fabian Morrison.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his children Todd Morrison of Caldwell, Tony (Karlene Kiger) Morrison of Caldwell, Allen (Lori) Morrison of Tuppers Plains, Ohio, and Angie (Duane) Albin of Cambridge, Ohio; five grandchildren, Cody (Katlin) Morrison, Larry (Alicia Mulford) Ritchie, Samantha and Andrew Albin, and Shannon Frear; two great-grandsons, Westin and Nathan Ritchie; siblings Bertha (Bill) Chaffee of Omaha, NE, Larry Morrison, and Jack Morrison both of Cambridge, Ohio; his beloved dog Toby. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will conclude visitation Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor John Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Halley’s Ridge Cemetery.
