Vanessa Lynn Miller Casteen

Vanessa Lynn Miller Casteen passed away on June 30, 2023 unexpectedly. Vanessa was born in Beverly, Ohio on May 3, 1967. Her parents are Gloria Miller Farley and the late Daniel Farley. She was a 1985 graduate of Caldwell High School and Muskingum Area Joint Vocational School. After graduating with a degree in accounting from Liberty University in Virginia, she spent many years working and honing her craft in finance. She began working for Republic Services in 2001 where she held management positions in Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC. This kick-started her career as a Finance Manager for Republic’s Raleigh/Durham market. In November of 1990, Vanessa met Adrian Casteen in Falls Church, Virginia. That led to many adventures and the two were married on June 27, 1992, having their first and only child, Gillian in 1998. Vanessa loved spending time with her husband, daughter, and her sweet dogs, Sophie and Chewy. Her family was the light of her life and she loved to vacation with her husband and daughter in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Vanessa was predeceased by her father Daniel Farley, her mother-in-law, Betty M. Bradley and a sister-in-law, Darla Farley. Vanessa is survived by many siblings, Tina (Patrick) Matlack of Rock Hill, SC, George Manning (Linda) Miller of Cambridge, OH, Gerry (Shauna) Miller of Pasadena, MD, Terry (Mandy) Miller of Caldwell, OH, Bill (Stacy) Miller of Marietta, OH, Donna Farley of Caldwell, OH and Richard Farley of Macksburg, OH, Sister in law Joann (Sean) Habron of Chapel Hill, NC; aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Memorial Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

    What a wonderful life Vanessa experienced, but ended too soon. I didn’t know anything about her after she left Caldwell. Please let me know when and where the memorial will be held. I would love to attend. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
