Leo J. Michel
Leo J. Michel, age 69 of Sarahsville, died Sunday, October 29, 2023, at his home. He was born September 22, 1954, in Marietta, son of the late Roger L. and Cleota Miller Michel. Leo was a 1973 graduate of Caldwell High School. Following graduation, he built industrial silos for 26 years and has been a bus driver for Noble Local Schools for the past 22 years. Leo was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell; He was an avid fan of Shenandoah Zeps athletics where was an assistant wrestling coach for many years. He drove bus for the Shenandoah football, wrestling and volleyball teams. He was an avid Ohio State football fan and enjoyed NASCAR, especially Martin Truex, Jr. Leo was devoted to his family.
Surviving is his wife, LuAnn Archer Michel, whom he married October 27, 1984; his sons, Lucas Joseph (Erica) Michel of Caldwell and Logan Jacob Michel of Pleasant City; his granddaughter, Kendal Early of Caldwell; his siblings, Sandy (Jack) Archer of Sarahsville, Paula (Dan) Niswonger of Caldwell, Chris (Mary) Michel of Summerfield, Tammy (Karl) Seebach and Shelly (Dave) Leasure all of Caldwell; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and all of his kids that he drove over the years.
Friends may call Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street in Caldwell. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, with the Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant.
