Pauline M. Robey

Pauline M. Robey, age 96, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Altercare Summit Acres. She was born April 13, 1928, near Middleburg, daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Amelia Hill Crum. Pauline was a 1946 graduate of Dexter City High School. She owned and operated Robey’s Restaurant and Coffee Shop for 19 years. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and its Catholic Women’s Club. She served as a lector and Eucharistic minister and was active on the church decorating committee. She served as a Girl Scout leader and was instrumental in developing the Noble County portion of the Buckeye Trail with John Wargo. Pauline took much pride in her gardening and maintaining her yard. She was always helping someone and she was devoted to her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Robey, whom she married in 1946 and who died in 1994; two sisters, Theresa Saling and infant sister Ellen Crum; and four brothers, Leroy, Edward, Clarence, and Earl Crum.

Surviving are her daughter, Patricia A. (Jerry) Rocco of Spring, Texas; two grandchildren, Christopher (Alicia) Rocco and Lauren (Tom) Dougherty; four great-grandchildren, Avery, Jase, Henry, and Walter; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Dale Tornes and Rev. Fr. Thomas Nelson as celebrants.     Pauline was a very dear friend to my grandmother, Mary Butler. She helped her with transportation to church and many other things, after Nana lost her vision. She was one of the most giving people I have known.
